Salary: Starting salary of £46,000 – £50,000 per annum, depending on experience and performance, with structured increases based on progression and successful completion of development milestones.

Additional Compensation: Performance-related bonuses and incentive schemes are available, with total earnings increasing further based on individual and team performance.

As a Trainee Investment Advisor, you will follow a structured career pathway, working closely with senior advisors across both client-facing and operational functions. From day one, you will gain exposure to the full investment advisory process while developing your technical, analytical, and client relationship skills.

You will support the delivery of investment advice and client-focused solutions, gaining experience across portfolio analysis, market research, financial data interpretation, and global economic trends. The role also involves direct client interaction, supporting advisory discussions and investment recommendations.

Working alongside experienced professionals, you will assist in preparing advisory materials, contributing to investment insights, and supporting ongoing client portfolio reviews. A structured training programme and continuous professional development will be provided to support your growth and long-term progression within investment advisory.

This role is ideal for individuals with strong numerical and analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in financial markets and client-focused advisory services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support senior investment advisors in researching global markets, economic data, and investment opportunities
  • Assist in preparing client presentations, investment proposals, and portfolio reports
  • Engage with clients to understand financial goals, risk tolerance, and investment objectives
  • Contribute to tailored investment recommendations aligned with client needs and market conditions
  • Monitor and review client portfolio performance against benchmarks
  • Collaborate with research, risk, compliance, and operations teams
  • Produce market updates and advisory insights for clients
  • Maintain awareness of financial markets, regulation, and industry developments
  • Support client onboarding and the advisory process from initial consultation to portfolio setup
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with compliance and regulatory standards
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with a genuine interest in investment advisory and financial markets
  • Level 4 professional certification in finance or investment advisory (completed or in progress) is mandatory
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret financial data accurately
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • No degree required
